Political Meeting: Oughna and Geagea in Maarab

In Maarab, Oughna and Geagea met to discuss current political developments. The meeting focused on ways to enhance stability and unify stances.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed the conditions of Christians in Iraqand Lebanon and the region, and ways to enhance their survival in their homelands, the importance of preserving the diversity that characterizes the communities of the East, and the necessity of supporting all efforts that promote stability and protect the historical presence of Christians in the region.

During his meeting with Dr. Samir Geagea, Oghanna reviewed the experience of the Assyrian Christian parliamentary bloc, and its vision in defending the rights of the Christian component Christianand promoting their effective participation in Iraqi state institutions, and consolidating the principles of citizenship, partnership, and pluralism in Iraq, in addition to the efforts it exerts to serve our people and preserve their identity and heritage.

Oghanna expressed his appreciation for the historical role that Lebanon plays in the political and cultural life of the Levant, and the position it holds in the hearts of Christians in the region, while also commending the political role of Dr. Samir Geagea as one of the most prominent Christian leaders in Lebanon, and a prominent voice in defending the presence of Christians in the East.

The head of the Assyrian Christian parliamentary bloc, MP Khaldo Ramzi Oghanna, affirmed that the meeting with Dr. Samir Geagea is a step to strengthen bridges of communication between Christian leaders in the Levant, and an opportunity to exchange views on how to protect the existence of our people and consolidate the values of citizenship and partnership in the region, pointing to the importance of continued dialogue and communication between national leaders in the region, in a way that serves peace, stability and the future of its peoples.
